Beautiful Bruce Peninsula

by Genevieve Hutchinson

Every summer Kyle and I try to go camping as much as we possibly can. This summer we haven't been able to until this past week. Last minute we were able to book a campsite in the Bruce Peninsula area which happens to be one of our favourite spots to explore.

The first day we were there it was super rainy so we went into Tobermory, wandered around the town, picked up a cowboy adventure book for Ky since he forgot to bring one, playing cards and a nautical rain coat for me. It finally cleared in the afternoon so we made the drive out to the Cabot Head Lighthouse to check it out which was pretty neat. Kyle whipped up a great dinner on our new mini stove bbq which proved to be a huge game changer, we also finally got an moka pot for coffee.

One of the days we went to the Grotto which is the most dreamy and reminds me of Capri Italy with it's crystal clear waters, caves & rocky white stones along the lakeshore. We took a dip after having to convince each other all morning that we needed to go in even though it was a pretty chilly morning. Then we took a crazy long hike along the lakeshore to the opposite end where no one else was, which was super nice to just hang out with the waves crashing against the rocks.

It was a short but sweet trip this time that was much needed. We can't wait to get back out camping soon, I miss the stars already.
